TRANSFER RUMOURS

Post by BUNBURY on Tue Jan 12, 2010 10:42 am

I know it's early days for OWEN, but I wonder who might be on their way to THE REEBOK?

Velouso and Ben Haim would fit the bill nicely.

What about getting Adriano back from Flamengo. He has scored 19 goals in 30 games for them this season, is only 27 and has 27 in 47 for the national team, only slight downside is he is completely stark raving, lock up in a straight jacket, as a bag of badgers, barking mad!

USA international Stuart Holden is on trial with Bolton following the arrival of Owen Coyle as manager this week.
The 24-year-old midfielder is out of contract with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo and is looking for a new club.
It is believed that he had been lined up for a trial at Burnley, but following Coyle's move from Turf Moor to the Reebok this week, Scottish-born Holden is now interesting Bolton

Bolton Wanderers face competition from Hull City for Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss.
The Mirror says Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to snap up City's Slovakian starlet Weiss today - despite a late bid from survival rival Hull City.
Coyle plans to take the young City winger on loan for the rest of the season and City will let him out as they clear him for talks with Wanderers and Hull.
And Coyle hopes that his famed style of football - and Bolton's closeness to Manchester - will persuade Weiss to join him and get the first-team action he needs before the World Cup finals.

Newly-installed Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has admitted that he is highly unlikely to pursue a loan deal for Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere.

The 18-year-old was being lined up by Coyle while he was in charge at Burnley but ,having changed clubs, the new Trotters boss has ended his interest in Wilshere.
Coyle admitted:"He is a very good player, but it is something I have not looked at.

"We obviously tried at Burnley, but with Arsenal's injuries it was put back and now they have got other injuries there as well, so he might not be available.

Kilgallon rejects Burnley move

£1.75m. We might as well throw our hat in to the ring. Good young (ish) centre half. Highly rated. Certainly push Knight hard for a place. Build up a partnership with Cahill (for a few months at least)!

We have been linked with him recently although whether he is on Coyle's radar remains to be seen.

Sounds like he was an identified target before Coyle left Burnley.

But is he a target now? We all know Wilshire loan seems to have died a death since his move and Wiess seems to be his target now. I wonder if we are interested in Killgallon. Another nail in Burnley's coffin and yet more insult on top of injury if he came to us along with Coyle, Davis, the additonal backroom staff, the tea lady, the kitman, the ground staff etc.

Anyone think that we should check up on Ruud Van Nistelrooy? Stoke have asked after him and possibly made a cheeky bid; so why not us?

Nugent is shit for one. And for two, he has has already played / been registered for two Premiership teams this season already so I cannot see how we can sign him.

Why Nugent?
Isn't it the case that having played for 2 Premiership clubs in one season, you can't play for a third?

Vladimir Weiss
Manchester City to Bolton - The Insider says: 3/5

Weiss is highly rated throughout the Premier League and in France and Germany.

His emergence through City's youth team has been well monitored and he made a big impression playing for Slovakia against Northern Ireland.
He also notably gave Manchester United defender Jonny Evans a torrid time.

United were keen on him as a result but knew City would not do business with them. They may be more receptive to a request from new Bolton boss Owen Coyle though.

Stoke have approached to by Ruud man. But failed. I think Bolton could have a good place for him. Klasnic and Ruud up front?

"Stoke have been bold in their approach but knew they would always struggle to persuade the 32-year-old that the Britannia Stadium was where he could press his claims for a World Cup recall"

*********************

Holden -
The US international midfielder has been training with Bolton Wanderers' first team after Owen Coyle invited him over.

Holden was originally targeted by Blackburn and then Burnley stepped in to offer him a chance.

However, with Coyle's departure, Holden was unsure whether he would get his chance to impress at Turf Moor.

Now he is staking his claim for a contract. Holden was born in Aberdeen and moved to America when he was 10.

He signed for Sunderland in 2005 but left after being injured in a bar attack.

He has 12 caps for the US and likes a shot at goal. He has a strong chance of making the World Cup squad - all the more if he signs for Bolton.

********************************

Could we have tempted Celtic captain Caldwell?

Sportsmail exclusively revealed Wigan's bid for the Celtic captain and that is where he signed today.

Middlesbrough had courted him along with Celtic team-mates Chris Killen, Barry Robson and Willo Flood but Caldwell was keen to test himself at the top level and once Wigan offered £500,000 to Celtic he made up his mind.

Caldwell did speak to Boro and turned up for the medical but found a Premier League chance to difficult to resist.
