Big Sam- Job on Line - 2 game deadline

Post by jayjay23 on Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:54 am

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sam-Allardyce-has-two-games-to-save-his-Blackburn-career-as-fan-power-threatens-to-strike-again-exclusive-article285461.html

Fans are starting to rule the roost at Blackburn like they did at Bolton. Te He.
All those who turned around and slagged us off for getting on to the manager about tactics after Megson "saved us".
It seems like they too have grown restless about Big Sam and his 1 man up front idea! CAN YOU BELIEVE HE IS STILL PULLING THAT TRICK? Get over it Sam!

But what about the fans not sticking behind the manager that kept them up and took them to a cup final in his first season, clearly they do not know football, eh?

Why Dont big Sam and Megson start their own club of "people who know football" or "attacking is for wimps"!

Like us with Megson, although with different reasons, the Blackburn fans have never taken to Sam because of the assoication with Bolton and the reputation for absolutely dire football.

He has done a similar job as Megson did to be fair. Kept them up after an experienced manager had them looking doomed and then consolidated that with a midtable finish but with mindnumbing football and a frusting persistance in one man upfront, regardless of the opposition. Sam's plus is that he's got them to a cup semi final (which i hope to god they lose), but Megson had a higher points to game ration in his second season.

The fact of the matter is, he face doesn't fit. While he doesn;t call Blackburn this place like someone I could mention, it is clear that he sodesn't have any affinity with either the club or the supporters. While he was flying high with us, we accepted his comments about all and sundry, but when you;re near the bottom you want the manager to focus on the task at hand.

His tactics while revolutionary for us are outdated and ineffective now. We have seen that for ourselves that we got better results attacking teams than sitting back.

I'm quite pleased he left us when he did in hindsight as, after everything he did for the club and with all the good memories, I couldn't see us finishing any higher than 13th or so, as with Megson, under Allardyce now. That would tarnish all the good memories and achievements.

Sadly, the fans are against him, going off teamtalk.com anyway, and his days could be numbered. We are 3 points behind but with 3 games in hand. The league position looks rosey but the reality is far from it considering every team around them as at least one game in hand, and most of them two. Hopefully, when we start to move up the table, we won't see them for dust.

Mark Hughes' sacking won;t have done him any favours either.

We can still make the UEFA cup if we win all our games in hand!

Can we just get out of the bottom three and stay out of it this season.

Or we could get relegated if we don't! What has that got to do with Sam anyway?

I like BSA and have always wanted to see him prove his critics wrong. I was worried when he took the Rovers job that he would get them going, but if this is all true and the tide is turning then it could be good news for us.

If they sack BSA then it might just cock them right up... Hughes won't go back there in a month of Sundays!! Curbs probably wouldn't, although if he was interested that would not be ideal, as he'd no doubt keep them up.

I'd hope they'd go for someone like Irvine. You know, likeable, greying Scotsman with no record of keeping a team in the Prem... oh dear, starting to sound familiar...........

They might go for Megson, after all football people would understand!

They could do worse than Megson as Burnley fans can vouch for.

Should BSA get sacked, I think he will be hard pressed to find another job in management in the top flight.
