Stoke Interesting!

Post by jayjay23 on Thu Jan 14, 2010 2:18 pm

I really admire Stoke!

The guts they take into every game and the transfer coups they continually try to pull off.

  • Ruud Van Nistleroy a cheeky bid for him
  • David James from pompy.
  • Amir Zaki, set to join.
  • Hugo Rodallega (or whatever you say)
  • Kenwyne Jones

and they are just some I can remember from the last few days.
I have been surprised and impressed before with what they have tried to do even when its not come off. If they keep going in that vein they will start to attract more big players.
ambition. nice to see.

what are there best signings?

I have heard a rumour we want Mutu, now that would show ambition.

They have shown some ambition but surely you could say by the same reasoning that why would a good player join them when he sees they keep getting knocked back? Would RVN join when if and when Kenwyn Jones turned them down?

Their best signing has to be Tuncay yet Pulis seems reluctant to play him, alomost as if he'd forgotten that he'd played for Boro for two years and was trying to get him used to the Premiership.

It's not like he's got much compeition either. I've read that their forwards have only scored 5 goals between them/

Zaki is a good signing for a good price but he's a total bellend!

Mutu is a coke head who flopped at Chelsea. Do we really want him at Bolton?

No dont want mutu.

Tuncay is quality, him and zaki could be a good partnership.

They could attract more players if and when the first one or two big names sign up it would probably open the door for others. A bit like Bolton bringing in Youri etc, it suddenly looked more desirable to others.

Thankfully the James transfer fell through; because if it had gone through, it is reported that Portsmouth would have come after Al-Habsi.

They've still got a transfer ban haven't they? I doubt Al Habsi would leave to go to Pompey anyway. They are all but guaranteed to be playing championship football next season.
